Bespoke Creative Health training workshops for Medway

Develop Your Creative Health Practice Workshops

Medway Council, Creative Medway, Arts Council England

Laura supported the development of a significant application to Arts Council for this Place Partnership Programme. She designed and is delivering the Sector Support strand which includes a series of workshops for creative practitioners to learn more about creative health.

Laura devised and co-delivered five in-person learning workshops bespoke for Medway to give local practitioners the knowledge, tools and confidence to run impactful and successful arts and health programmes. The programme was delivered through a mixture of group activities, guest speakers and presentations along with further resources and reading lists to take away.

  • Session 1: Develop Your Creative Health Practice – introduction to creative health, key resources, guides and case studies to support attendee’s creative health development.
  • Session 2: Creativity & Local Health Priorities – local health inequalities and priorities, the wider determinants of health, how creativity can address these and how it can be embedded into health pathways.
  • Session 3: Getting Creative Health Work funding and investment for creative health including language, policies, proposal writing and project planning.
  • Session 4: Participant & Self Care in Creative Health – psychological and physical safety of practitioners and participants, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and co-production.
  • Session 5: Creative Health Evaluation – how to evaluate creative health projects appropriately and how to showcase your work.

All sessions took place in person at Chatham Historic Dockyard, Kent.
